How much do lessons cost?

How long are the lessons?

An hour long, minus a few minutes to set up at the beginning and pack away at the end.

Where does Alistair teach?

Anywhere in the world, via Skype! Also in Saint-Sozy, near Souillac, in South West France.

Do I need to be good with computers to use Skype?

Not at all; it's very easy, and Alistair can help you to get started.

Can the lessons also be conducted through other webcam chat and conferencing services?

Yes, just email Alistair to arrange.

What if I pay and then decide I don't want a lesson?

As long as it's more than 48-hour's notice, Alistair will refund the money.

What if either of us lose our web connection during the lesson?

Then the lesson will be extended to make up for it.

Does Alistair teach children?

No - teaching kids is a specialist area. Try the Registry of Guitar Tutors website if you are looking for a guitar teacher for your child.

Does Alistair teach beginners?

Yes, he teaches both beginners and guitarists who have been playing for many years.

How long will it take me to learn to play the guitar?

That question is impossible to answer because it depends on so many variables - how good is your memory, how dextrous are your hands, how much time will you dedicate to practice and how focussed and disciplined will that practice be, what level of guitar playing are you aiming for, etc., etc. Anyone can learn to play the guitar – it takes some people longer than others.

What do I need for my lessons?

A guitar, a plectrum, and if playing electric guitar, an amplifier and lead; a PC/Laptop/Mac/iPad with a broadband internet connection (and/or Wi-Fi) and a webcam.

Does Alistair teach acoustic and electric guitar?

Yes; he teaches acoustic, electric, lead and rhythm guitar in a variety of styles.
